Humble Pie

This week I learned a valuable lesson. My favorite NT book is the Book of James and in the first chapter he tells us to be slow to speak and quick to listen. This week I blew it over an ad I saw in the Northampton Community College Community Education catalog. I was upset about them offering a Spanish Speaking CPR class. I instantly went to my blog to voice my outrage; however, I never spoke to a representative of the school to find out the facts. I can't stand when others send me e-mails without checking out all the facts and I hold to the principles of James. Not this time, I let my emotions get the better of me and let my fingers do the walking. Well, I spoke to a wonderful lady from the college that works in the Healthcare Education Division and informed that they also offer free English CPR classes. This semester was the Spanish. Also, she told me they help church's out with CPR classes and first aid. She is working with me to set up a class for our church. So if I would of listened I wouldn't have become angry, which is the 3rd part of that scripture and then I wouldn't be here eating humble pie. So I just wanted to set the record straight that there was no left wing conspiracy against us English speaking people. Just a person who didn't listen first.

I am really confused please help!

I just sat down to look at the Northampton Community College community Education catalog for 2008. I was looking for how much it might cost for CPR training for our ushers and nursery workers. What I found has made me very angry. They offer a Free Spanish CPR for family and friends and right below that course for our English speaking citizens the same class except it cost us $60. So me being the person that I am called the school and asked if I could register for the Spanish speaking FREE class and asked if they would give me an interpreter. The lady on the other end said, "I think not". I responded with why am I being descriminated against because I know how to speak english. She said I would then have to speak to the director. Which I am currently waiting on a phone call from. I don't know about you, but this really bothers me. Doesn't my family and friends need life saving help too!

Here I am once again sick. It seems when I am sick that is when the Lord speaks to me the most. He gives me the best ideas, creativity, and encouragement. It seems that I get the most work done typing away on my lap top right from my bed. A friend of mine pointed this out to me the other day that I seem to be more productive when I get sick. I was wondering why can't the Lord talk to me when I am healthy. And then once again I am reminded of my stubbornness and pigheadedness. I love the scripture "Be still and know that I am God." You would think the Be still part is easy. No it is the hardest thing in the world. Time and time and time again. I repent and say sorry Lord for not being still before you and say I won't ever let it happen again. And hear I am again being forced to be still. Good thing He doesn't condemn us on broken promises. But I must admit I sure love the being still part. I just wish I would be still on better terms. So maybe this is the year I will learn that lesson a little better, and I am praying that you too will learn the lesson of being still before God. Because it is wonderful to spend time with Him--just Him and me! I love you Daddy!

Week of December 1 2007

After reading the new testament and all Jesus says about spending ourselves on behalf of the poor, how come some people take that literally and give up their lifestyle and have very little but most of us stay in the lifestyle we are in when we read these words whether it is lower, middle or upper income? Compared to most of the world we are all considered rich right? Too long of a question?

Questions for Questions of the Week!

OK so I am new at this blog thing. I thought it would be fun to have a question of the week. So what questions should I talk about or ask. Please respond by giving some thought provoking questions or topic ideas we could discuss and debate about. The key is thought provoking!
